Rob McCormick founded Avatara in 2005, intent on providing specialized, secure, enterprise-level IT services to small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs) through an innovative, fully managed in-house platform. Prior to establishing Avatara, Rob served as CEO of Savvis from 1999 to 2005, during which he pioneered the industry's first virtualized managed hosting platform. He led the company through a series of strategic acquisitions and significant equity raises, driving substantial growth and culminating in one of the largest tech IPOs of the era. Previously, Rob was COO at Bridge Information Systems, which was spun off to create Savvis in 2000.
